My Daughters real dad....how do I tell her?
My daughter is 27 years old. I had her when I was in High School. I listed her Dad's name on her Birth Certificate...He never saw her, but he tried to...my Dad wouldn't let him. Six years later I married a former boyfriend from a different High School. He insisted on telling his family that he was the father, so that is what she grew up believing. Once, she asked my who was on her birth certificate and I told her a crazy story about putting someone else's name on it to spite her Dad.
Now her real Dad has found me and wants to meet her. Should I tell her the whole truth now? She doesn't have a close relationship with the Dad she knows. I don't know what to do.

You had a chance before, and messed that up. That was wrong, because now you have to tell her the truth, which means you lied to your child before. Was it to protect her? or Was it to protect you?
It's time to come clean. Sit her down, and you'd better be ready to apologize for your ignorance. I don't know how she will react, but I think being upset that you lied to her will be part of it. That's all you can do. Sit her down and come clean. Don't try to make excused for why you did what you did, because there really isn't any that is justifiable. She may be angry, which is normal, but she and her real dad deserve a chance to meet one another.
yes you need to tell her the truth. She is old enough to handle it and you owe it to her to at least be honest. The out come is not your responsibility. You made a baby with that man and now you must finally own up to it.
