Maserati GranTurismo traded a Corvette and a Jeep Grand Cherokee
This wealthy woman coming from old money owned a Water front home on Indian Rocks Intercoastal. She lived in the house for a decade and the real estate market boomed. When she sold her home she made a significant gain. She wanted to roll the profit over into another primary residence. She was interested in a beach front home. My wife and I were renting a beach front condo. We were waiting for a unit to become available in the building we were renting. We wanted a unit higher than the 10th floor and a corner unit . The North corner unit was ideal unobstructed view of the beach and ocean from the wrap around balcony. Our realtor told us it was impossible to get a corner unit on the north side nobody was selling. He showed us a unit in building two a first floor unit. My wife and I were not going to buy a first floor unit. We went ahead and looked at it anyways. A middle aged man owned it the only good thing about it was nothing but it did have a over sized porch that lead out onto the roof of the club house. It was a two bedroom. The guy that owned it was retiring from the medical field he was some kind of Nurse but he did well. He owned the Condo free and clear he had a late model Jeep grand Cherokee that he said was for sale. He also had a Corvette but he never mentioned it. My wife and I thought there was something cocky about the guy. We just could not figure out how he could be happy with a first floor condo with a ** view. A month later a Corner unit became available in our building but it was an A unit it had an unobstructed view of the ocean but the wrap around balcony on the south side view was blocked by building two. It had motorized storm shutters and it was above the 10th floor. It was on the 13th floor all in all it was an awesome unit and our floor only had one other full time resident so the Washer and Dryer on our floor was basically like our own machine. The Kitchen had a sliding glass door and face the opposite direction with a perfect view of the intercoastal and st petersburg in the distance. We also had a private balcony with a gate that led to our unit from the elevator. We paid the highest price for a non penthouse condo in the building at that time but it was a deal. When I found out a penthouse was available for $750,000 I contacted the woman who just sold her house on Indian rocks intercoastal for over a Million dollars. She looked at the condo and put a Contract on it immediately. At some point between closing on it she met that guy that was selling his Condo on the first floor. He sold the condo but rented it back for a month and he started dating the woman who was buying the Penthouse. They hit it off real quick. After the woman closed on the penthouse she did a complete renovation at a cost of $150,000. When they moved in together the woman bought a brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee fully loaded and the man traded his Jeep Grand Cherokee it was several years old but immaculate condition and his Corvette am not sure what year it was I never saw it but it was a late model. He got a 2004 Maserati Spyder it was right at $100,000. Trading in the two cars would not have put much of a dent in that price maybe minus 30 - 40 thousand. The woman paid the difference and she also gave him control of some of her investments to leverage in his day trading. Something new that he was doing but was doing very well at it using the latest technology to buy stocks in the morning and sell in the afternoon basically selling within the same day or a couple days or even hours. Since they lived in our building I ran into them a lot at the elevator also the woman would call me on a regular basis to question financing options on other real estate investments mainly pre construction condo on or near the beaches. The man was still kind of cocky and all he talked about was the Maserati this the Maserati that and I should come up sometime when I have a day off and hang out with him so he could show me his day trading. I finally went up a couple times to hang out and watch how he did the day trading but it was nothing I was ever going to be interested in. I went up one day to drop off some paper work for the woman and I was shocked that he had two young ladies in their early to mid 20s. Very ** wearing skimpy clothes and to close for comfort. I asked him on the side what was going on this was not right in my opinion. He said, "it is ok they were related to the woman", at least one was and the other was a friend of the related possibly her niece. I could see how he was having a good time with these beautiful young ladies within close proximity. Several weeks later I saw the woman driving the Maserati Spyder. She was leaving the parking garage and she had a serious face. I never saw her drive that Maserati before she always drove her Jeep Cherokee. The strange thing about it I never thought about the woman as attractive. She was nice but older and she had extra pounds. The interesting thing about it was after I saw her in the Maserati Spyder from that day on I found some kind of light attraction to her. The next time I spoke to her on the phone I asked her how she liked it. She said she hated it she mentioned a few sports cars that she had in her past years and that they were much more enjoyable than the Maserati. Something happened and I found out the woman was not in a good mood. She was upset. I saw the man the next day and he said oh she is a little upset because of some loses. He said she was going to have to understand that loses was part of it but he was going to gain it back. The young girls were still getting day trading lessons from him a couple days a week. Being a day trader one has to be focused on day trading. They don't need to be training young pretty girls while they are working in my opinion. I told my wife about this and the next day she said the woman was done with him. She kicked him out and took back the Maserati Spyder it was in her name. She told my wife she was looking for a quick sale. It would have been a good deal. I suspected she just wanted to recoup her investment in the Maserati. We were not interested my wife had just purchased a Mercedes CLK430 coup AMG a German super car. My wife and I were coming home from dinner about a week later we saw the man walking he looked like he was lost. He looked like he was in a daze. I wondered what hurt him more. The lost of the relationship with the woman and living in the penthouse like a king or the loss of the Maserati Spyder. I suspect he lost a big portion of his own investment equity. We never saw the man again after that day he was walking across Tom Stuart Causeway in a daze. We started to notice people that drove Maserati's for the most part it looked like a sister Jaguar. Mainly men drove the Maserati and women drove the Jaguar convertible that looked just like the Maserati Spyder. The men that drove the Maserati looked like they loved the car and I could not stand that. I personally thought the Maserati was ** and the woman agreed with me. The woman sold her Penthouse and made a gain of several hundred thousand. She continued being wealthy and when her family sold real estate assets that they held in New York her share of the profit was always a big sum of money I estimate between five hundred thousand and into the millions. She invested in new construction condos and she was always happy go lucky. My wife mentioned that she went to a birthday party for the woman. It was at one of the local beach bars and her niece was driving a Maserati Spyder. She was not sure if it was the same car because it was dark when they were leaving the bar. I am sure it was the same Maserati Spyder. It had to be she gave it to her niece. Her niece distracted the man caused him to ** up and make some bad moves in his day trading. He lost a lot obviously because of the distraction. The Niece she may not have found a career at day trading but she got the Maserati Spyder. He must have found out because it is a small town on the barrier island in Pinellas county. I always wonder if she scene him walking would she stop and offer him a ride and would he take the ride.
