I love my mother and Aunts but they aren't perfect
I was visiting my Aunt and her two children and there was other guests there. One of the guests had a son who for some stupid reason didn't like my cousin. My colusin who was a small boy around seven sat on a watermelon and the boy told on him. It should not have been a big deal but it turned into one. The kid kept pestering my cousin and they got into a fight. My Aunt beat the ** out of him while I watched in horror. The kid was laughing his ** off but my AUnt just kept up with the whipping. I was ten at the time.
Years pass and my mother and I get into an argument. She told me that my cousin was merely getting diciplined and that my Aunt did the right thing by whipping him. I said no the ** kid had sarted the fight and was laughing his ** off while my cousin was getting a whipping. I said this revealed her to be a less than perfect parent and that she ought to quit bragging about her so ** much.
My mother was ** off but by now I was nearly grown and I said not to ever mention that incident to me again. I said apparently idiocy ran in her family and I hoped to ** my children wouldn't inherit this brand of incompetence. I was quite frankly ashamed to be around her sister.
We didn't speak for a few weeks but mother got over it.
