Pants fall down at sea world

My family went on a big trip to California not long after I graduated high school. Before the trip, I went on a big shopping spree to get new clothes to wear for the vacation. Most of the clothes I bought had not been worn prior to actually getting to California. Sure, I had tried them on, but it’s an entirely different thing to try something on and stand around in them for a few minutes compared to walking around while wearing them all day long.
Our first tourist stop was Sea World in San Diego, and on our first day there, I excitedly wore one of the brand-new pairs of American Eagle shorts that I had bought. But, as we were walking through the park, I began to realize that these shorts were a little too big for me. They would’ve been fine to wear with a belt, but foolishly I had forgotten to pack a belt. Thankfully, I had brought a sweatshirt with me in case it was cool, and I was able to repurpose the sweatshirt into a makeshift belt by tying it around my waist. It was a little flimsy, and I kept having to tighten it as we walked, but it was doing it’s job of keeping my shorts up.

All was fine until we sat down on a bench to take a small break from walking. Sitting down either caused the sweatshirt to loosen or the shorts to slide down too low, or both. Either way, when I stood up, I was only able to take a few steps before my shorts fell to my ankles, in front of a whole crowd of people walking by.And, just to add to the fun of the moment, I had also purchased a bunch of new underwear for my new vacation wardrobe, and the brand-new pair I had worn on this particular day was a flashy pair of boxer briefs with hearts all over them. Many people who were passing by saw it happen, and while no one was a ** about it, I saw several of them smiling, smirking or chuckling to themselves. I could feel my face turning as red as the hearts on my boxer briefs. I was able to pull the shorts back up and re-tied the sweatshirt around my waist. For the rest of the day, I made sure that the sweatshirt was extra tight and secure and never stood back up after sitting down without double checking to make sure my shorts weren’t starting to sag.
That night, we found the nearest department store and I bought myself a brand-new belt, which thankfully solved my problem for the rest of the time we were in California. But it certainly made for an interesting and memorable start to the trip.

One vacation I’m sure I will never forget
