I was visiting my friend who was a retired postman and after his retirement he took a part time job working as a clerk for a Quickie mart. He was working the evening shift which was from -four to midnight.
These two long haired losers who were actually rednecks were roaming around the store acting suspicious. My friend and I heard one of them say "that boy looks like hed ** a **".
MY friend had been a golden gloves fighter in his younger days and was on the boxing team in the Navy.
Ok these idiots wanted to buy cigarettes and my friend told them he had heard what they said and to get out of the store or hed call the police.
They said aw we were just kiddin. My friend told them to leave the store this time phone in hand.
This time they left got in their piece of ** car and drove away.
Those mental midgets will never know how close they came to a good ol down home country whuppin.
A kid in a motorcycle helmet bust into the convenience store I was working at pointing what looked like a semi auto pistol at me and demanded money.
I started opening the cash register. When he momentarily looked behind himself, I quickly grabbed, aimed and discharged two rounds from my antique .38 smith & wesson into his tinted plastic face plate. He expired on the way to the ground. I hit the alarm and locked the doors.
Within ten minutes, law enforcement arrived.
Turned out the kid was a very tall sixteen year old and his "weapon" was a very real looking soft air pistol.
I avoid jobs at gas stations and convenience stores but I do not regret what I did. It does not haunt me but I do feel empathy for that kid's single mom.
