Messianic? ...no

My parents are messianic Jews. I am not. I don't believe in Jesus. I'm afraid to tell them. I think the notion of Jesus is silly-particularly when people think Jesus is God.

  • Isaiah 53:3-6 "He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all."

Isaiah 9:6 "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."

And unto his son will I give one tribe, that David my servant may have a light alway before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen me to put my name there."

Micah 5:2 "But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting."

Luke 2:4 "And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)"

The prophecy of the Messiah was fulfilled to the T. Yeshua is of the house and lineage of David, born in Bethlehem of the tribe of Judah. It's an exact fulfillment of prophecy. He was rejected of his own people and the government was upon his shoulder, he was wounded for our transgressions and the Lord laid on him the iniquity of us all. Yeshua Ha'Mashiach Is truly God as well. Proven by the fulfillment of prophecy that a child would be born unto Israel that would be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Bless you and I hope that you find Christ Jesus because he is the Truth of God and the only hope of a new covenant not bound by the law but only faith and grace.

  • The substance of your faith and relationship to God (or lack thereof) is personal. Its just between you and God. You can hold whatever beliefs you want (so long as they don't cause you to harm others), but keep an open heart and don't judge those (ie your parents) if their beliefs are different than yours.

And to the poster above, do a quick google search on Messanic Jews. Clearly, as this was the faith the OP was raised in, she knows the basic tenets of this branch of Judaism

  • Jews dont believe Jesus is the son of God or god, they beleive their messiah hasnt come so obviously you dont even know much about religion. There is also humanistic jews who can be atheists even.

  • Jesus is NOT GOD. Jesus is the SON of GOD.
