I was recently diagnosed woth COPD

When my doctor xrayed my lungs during a routine exam for asthma he discovered lung damage. He asked me if I had ever smoked and I told him no.

The doctor told me he saw COPD damage to my lungs and boy do I feel gypped. I never put a damn cigarette or cigar or pipe in my mouth my whole life. Nevertheless I have f****** COPD.

I feel like I'm being punished for something I didn't do.

F*** this. There is no cure for COPD other than inhaled steroids which only open up your lungs so that you can breath a bit.

I ddn't bring this upon myself and I'm very bitter about this. COPD is a bad way to die.

  • I am 77, smoked a pack a day since I was 13. I quit last year, due to a blocked artery, had a bypass. After, they had me do lung exercises, the tech told me I was recording volume numbers as high as she had ever seen.
Now healed from the surgery, I took up running again, doing 10 miles a day now, getting ready for the area marathon. I plan on winning in the 70 and up age group, assuming I don't stop to smoke a cigarette. *LOL**

  • Pray to God. He can save you.

  • I'm in the same position, my parents smoked around me when I was a kid, and it resulted in the same diagnosis. It blows! and it's not fair. You had no control in the situation, and you're left with the consequences of other people's actions. I'm sorry that this has happened and you're not alone
