Preggo smoking

My wife smokes 2 packs a day. She found out she was preggo last week. She asked me if I would mind if she continued to smoke her usual amount. I love her so much, that I said yes. Nothing is more important than her happiness. Besides, both of out mothers smoker while pregant and we turned out just fine. What the **!

    • Most of the stories about issues smoking during pregnancy are about people who are extreme smokers, like 4 packs plus. Two packs per day is relatively moderate, and although it might cause slight complications, it won't really cause any more than quitting during pregnancy would.

    • It will also build up the babies tolerance to nicotine, making the baby less likely to get addicted later in life.

    • And now we wait for the GoFundMe page to go up: "BAWWW our precious newborn is SO SICK and you must all finance our lives SOB SOB please saaaave our precious child!!!!"

    • More like the GoFundMe page to afford all those **
If you end up with 4, 5 kids and you smoke, they will learn from you and do it too
So that's like 14 packs per day
14 X £12.50 (AVG price in the UK)
Total: a ** load of money
      Multiply that by 7
      £1225/week ☠️

    • It's cool. BTW, does your hubs smoke too? It's nice to have that kind of support.

    • I smoked while I was preggo. Had no problems. I wouldn't worry if I were you.

    • You did the right thing. I smoked all thru my 3 pregnancies. NO PROBLEM! Enjoy!

    • Even if the baby is full term the damage done to the baby will last a lifetime. The baby will be born addicted to nicotine and will go through the same pain as adult smokers do when they quit.

    • I'm sorry to be the one to bring you the bad news, sport, but there is no combination of stubbornness, ignorance and denial that'll make the baby turn out okay. She needs to quit. Totally. Not cut back. QUIT. Like, today.

    • It can lead to premature labor/birth. Unless you want a fetus to be born at five months and die within minutes, get your wife to at least slow down on smoking. Two packs a day?!?! At maybe 7 minutes per cigarette x40, that is a lot of time smoking.
