Starting the disempowerment dropped into a restaurant and had a look at the menu. Over the next few days, through discussion, worked out what she'd like.

Made a booking and told her we were going out for dinner.

When the waiter seated us and handed menus, I reached over and gently pushed her menu down and said "allow me".

When the waiter returned I ordered for both of us.
