Attacked by my daughters boyfriend
I won’t lie I didn’t know whether to put the under embarrassing, venting, or funny. Yesterday I confronted my 17 year old daughters boyfriend about the way he not only speaks to her, but to the rest of our family. It’s constantly “** this house”, “** you” etc… to not only her but to family members in this house. While confronting him my daughter stood between the two of us for whatever reason. My daughters bf told her to get the ** out of his face, and that was it for me. I stepped in between them and he sucker punched me, believing I was attempting to fight him. The sucker punch knocked me off balance and sent me into the corner of their bedroom, stuck between the bed and the dresser.
He continued to strike me until I could get back to my feet, and use what little Brazilian Ju jitsu I know to get him down on the bed and control his arms so he’d stop punching me. Altogether, I figure he punched me between 20-30 times, before I was able to control the situation. I didn’t want to punch him back as he is only 17, but I also didn’t want to be punched anymore.
I need to know was I in the wrong fro trying to explain to him that I don’t appreciate him talking to my family like that, and then being attacked. Or should I have just walked away from it all to begin with and let him continue his ignorant tirade towards my family, my home and especially my daughter?
