Story out of Vietnam
I was with a friend who had apparently been accused of sexual misconduct. Not ** but putting his hands where they didn't belong.
Before he could be arrested he was n a search and destroy mission. His unit apparently got into a firefight and he was killed. I found out before his alleged victim did and I didn't tell her. She was on pins and needles waiting for him to get back.
I didn't see this but I heard that when his unit returned she was eager to get him arrested. She was led to his body and his face was so battered she didn't recognize him. She finally realized it was him but she stuck with her report but since he was beyond a trial the powers that be refused to record him as a criminal and his widow gets a full widows pension.
