I'm 77 but I remember this incident from when I was ten
This boy was given some money to take to the Principal and when he got there not all of the money was there. The boy was searched and the money was found. They called his father.
His father got off work and came to school. The boy was sitting in class and the father slapped him and slapped him and slapped him in front of the whole class. Nobody said anything. The teacher looked worried the father might injure the kid who was crying his eyes out. The father left saying you wait till you get home.
I heard later that this boys father had beat the ever loving ** out of his son. The boy in class the next day had two shiners and a swollen lip. The kid was ten years old. He looked disaffected the whole week. Nobody wanted anything to do with him.
Thinking about this after many years I hope the boy eventually recovered. That was some whuppin.
