Two children claim I stood in their doorway after they were abed

I live on the other side of the house and I would have to walk across the house and walk up the stairs. Both children said I was gone when they turned on the light. They said I was just standing there wide eyed staring at nothing.

Spoiler. I never did that but it bothers that both children a brother and sister had the same nightmare.
