My step father was amazed at my work ethic
I have a physical handicap which kept me back from college. My problem kept me from being able to concentrate and excel in school and overall it looked like I was destined for failure in adulthood. I barely graduated High School.
I was only able to get marginal employment. Instead of looking for a good salary I looked for a good company benefit package.
I did ok. Not great but ok. I was reliable and able to perform my duties and even though my pay was horrible I stuck with the job and my step dad was amazed. I was never able to leave home but I paid money to live with them and my presence in the house meant that they could spend less of their money. I paid for lawn maintenance and by the end of the pay period my salary was mostly gone.
My step dad never complained and overall he was better off with me than he would have been without me.
To me with this handicap that is quite an achievement.
