My Grandfather worked for General Motors for 40 years

He started at age 18 and retired at age 58. His job was to inspect the fabric used to make the doors. He got a good pension and was ok financially for the rest of his life.

Never once in his conversations did he ever mention his work.

I believe the work was hard, dirty and exhausting and upon retirement he wanted to forget it.
