Gf's mental health

My gf has an eating disorder...she eats some but not much and it's only because her friends and I make sure she eats something every meal. Along with that she gets depressed really easily and often. Nothing I can do or say makes her feel any better and I feel terrible because of this. One day I did something stupid and it upset her a lot, she lost her mind and started cutting herself and broke up with me.. all while balling her eyes out declaring that she didnt want to live. Well with help from her best friend, I convinced her to get professional therapy but she still is ina very fragile place. I just need help helping her...I'm a 18 yr old college student, I cant do this on my own anymore..

  • Dump her life is hard enough without that daft c***

  • Look, I know you care about her, but at your age, you really can't be tasked to support someone as much she requires. Furthermore, she really isn't in a place to be in a relationship until she gets healthy. I agree with the first poster, it would be best for the both of you to end the romantic part of your relationship now. Maybe, when she's well, you can re-evaluate things. Staying with her is just going to drag you down, and what could would that do if her problems destroyed you both?

  • Dump her, your to young to deal with a crazy girl and you are only young once. Why waste it on her?

  • She's in the best place right now. When it comes down to it, her recovery is solely up to her. She needs to help and believe in herself now. You have already done so much for her. Concentrate on your school work and take care of you. You can still support her, with out enabling her the best you can. You can also help the both of you, by finding a support group for people with loved who suffer from eating disorders. But you are important to, and you also have your life to live as well.
