Too Old To Cut?
I'm 20 years old. I started cutting when I was 15 or 16 and I stopped cutting after my life picked up a little and got in a relationship, about 17. I have recently been under a lot of stress. Supposed to be getting married in a year with no way to pay for it, having so much trouble saving. My fiance tries but he works but never has money, I pay for everything with a minimum wage job. I started cutting again, releases some of the tension but I wear a crocheted bracelet to hide my scars and cuts. If I get angry, upset or frustrated without my box cutter around I dig into my arm with my nails. There is a stigma attached to cutting is that it's a teenager thing. Nobody knows...nobody
Really need to stop if you haven't already. Very good friend of mine, and occasional FWB, is a gorgeous, exotic-looking woman who's modeled and is photographed for her beautiful, angular face all the time. Petite, in her 30s, bad past, and cut her arm for years. The scars are still there and easy to see, which is why she wears long sleeve shirts in public. At home, she wears very little and doesn't care about her cutting scars, and has told me "You see me naked all the time. My arm cuts shouldn't bother you".
Problem is, she still does it sometimes. Has sent me pics of her arm hacked up from a knife or whatever else she used. I've never seen anyone so outright gorgeous, **, and desirable, yet, emotionally fkd up and cuts herself.
Your all grown up now stop with the kid **..... Use chainsaws, surgically sharp scalpels, machetes you know ** like that!
I am 24 and I still cut from time to time.....I do not think that anyone has a right to judge you for cutting. I think that it is something you have to work out and the first step is opening up to people about why you cut and what triggers it. Good luck :)
