Am I wrong for this?

I like the same guy as my best friend does. She doesn't know that I like him and I'm afraid to tell her. I'm afraid of him asking me out, though, because she likes him a lot, and I don't want to lose my best friend. I know that I'd say yes if he did ask, though.

Someone else told me that it was about who HE liked, not her or me. I'm not really sure what to do, though. Am I wrong for considering who my friend likes and not who he likes? And what should I do?

  • No one can control who this guy likes or not. You guys are in high school and not all high school relationships last a long time maybe you should consider a couple of things. Wait until he actually asks you out, if he even asks you out. And ask yourself, how you would feel, if some guy you liked asked your bestfriend. Would you be okay with it? Would you be mad if your friend didn't consider your feelings? In the end, no guy is worth your friendship. So if you think it will cause friction, don't go out with him. There are other guys out there, one for each of you.

  • If you're both good friends you should support whoever he likes since you both like him and you should both be honest with each other. Things like this happen all the time, just don't let it tear your friendship apart.
