Hurting My Best Friend In the Process?

My best friend likes a guy who is one of my friends. He knows that she likes him, and he's made it clear that he doesn't like her back. He's really sweet, though. Even though he knows that she likes him, he treats her the same.

On the other hand, I think he may like me. I feel like a terrible person, too, because I know that if he asked, that I would date him. This is especially bad because she really likes him. Here's the thing, though. So do I. I've always liked him, but she doesn't know that.

Okay, let me clear this up. I moved a year before my best friend did to where we live. I met him and I've had a bit of a crush on him since day 1. It's now a few years later.

Anyways, during lunch, he would tell me how much he hates being single and how my kind (that being girls) is confusing. Then, a few weeks before school ended, he asked how my boyfriend was doing. I don't have a boyfriend, and I told him that unless they were imaginary, then no, I didn't. He then told me that he assumed that I would have a boyfriend.

What is that supposed to mean? Does anyone think that he likes me? I'm 16, almost 17, by the way.

  • He likes you. If he asks you out, say yes, like you want to. If your friend gets hurt, don't worry, continue to be the person you are (that is: don't be all superior b**** like because you got the guy and she didn't) and she will come around.

  • guys just dont ask girls questions like that... so yes, i think he likes you
