As a teenager I told my parents that I didn't want to amount to anything, just earn enough money to get by on, life has been good, because now I'm mid 60s and still don't amount to much, but I get by real well, and have plenty of time to enjoy myself.

I don't believe that you are as old as you say you are.
This is how I feel. But I force myself to try and be more "ambitious" because the rest of the world has different standards of success than I do. Good for you for having the ** to do what some of us only dream of - not very much, and having plenty of time to yourself.
I did this too.
Sometimes I feel bad that I didn't do more--people always say I could have.
