A bad marriage can destroy your love for you wife or husband
I purely and simply adored my wife and I tried to make her happy. She got involved with another man and during this sick period I gradually lost any positive feelings I had ever had for her.
After one of her temper spells in which she accused me of interfering with her relationship with this man I got a lawyer and divorced her.
Thank god we had no children.
After I left the man lost interest in her and married another woman and moved to her home several hundred miles away.
My ex kept calling me and I finally had to tell this lunatic of a owman that she had destroyed and affection I could ever have for her and that she needed to stop calling me forever.
Shes been married and divorced three more times I heard on the grapevine.
She has problems keeping her legs closed even though she married.
A very similar thing happened to me in my first marriage (wild, out-of-control adultery by her), so I really feel for you. It's hard to separate from someone you love, and hard to resist the temptation to help them when they seem to need it. Good luck with what is likely to be a continuing saga with your ex.
