My last conversation with my best friend
He was a good ol boy type guy. Full of jokes and fun-loving. He ate too much and he was obese and he smoked cigarettes. Lots of them. He was a long haul driver who drove an 18 wheeler across the country.
One day when he was back from a trip we were discussing things and I said. "We're not getting any younger. Let's get together and lose some weight and you quit that smoking.
He said "I'm not going to quit smoking because I enjoy it"
About four weeks later he had died in the cab of his truck in his sleep. He was only 52.
Sad story and all, but how many times do you need to repost it? That's not normal behavior for an alleged dude who hangs out with "good ol boy" types.
Maybe you're actually just some bored emo who watched "Blue Collar Comedy Tour" one too many times.
Sad story, unfortunately its all to common. I had a good friend die at the age of 46 from a heart attack . He was over weight, drank to much , smoked like a chimney and generally just never took care of himself. He was at his daughter's soccer game , told his wife he was going out for a smoke and collapsed in the parking lot. He was dead before he got to the hospital, no amount of explain why he needed to change his life style had any impact on him. Its a shame, he left a beautiful family in turmoil and heart broken.
Well my friend left his wife son and grieving elderly parents. He also deprived me of a good friend in my old age. His parents died eight years later and they are buried beside him.
