Chickenpox at 16
Having chickenpox later in life absolutely ** for several reasons (I need to vent):
1. You're expected not to whine or complain as much even thought they're REALLY ** ITCHY
2. Hormones already mean you can randomly have pain in certain areas of your body as in your teens you're either going into, in the middle of, or coming out of puberty. Add pox and you're dead
3. Genital pox - at 4 the chance of you use down there for peeing, over 14 and it means no masturbation, no arousal, no trimming and no scratching the already itchy part of your body
4. Acne - you don't know which is which now, nuff said
5. If you scar you'll probably not get over it. If you scar a mark on your arm at three you'll probably grow up not noticing it. At 17 you're coming out of puberty so physically you're not gonna change naturally in any way that's gonna hide that scar
6. Self-conscious feelings. At six you didn't care. Add a decade and you do
7. It ** up all social plans
8. You're disappointed that you aren't immune like you thought you were
Wow, what a tale of woe from an old duffer of 16. Naturally, since you were 16 at the time, most of what you listed is mere angst, not actual physical suffering like if you had them when you were ACTUALLY older. And yeah, you probably will be scarred for life. Poor little you.
Make sure you get the shingles shot later in life.
