  • God never leaves you. He is with you always.

  • Believe in God if that works for you but make your decision by talking to real people such as a priest or a religious friend and to even it out you could talk to an atheist friend. It would be a lot more helpful than these losers debating it.

By the way i am not a believer in god but i have great admiration for those who can have faith in something they cant see. Religion just inst the right thing for me/

  • “Archaeology is also showing direct contradictory evidence”
Please give me examples of this evidence. Archaeology has also proven some of the events in the Bible to be true. You can research this on your own or I’ll be happy to provide some websites that may be helpful. I don’t expect you to believe me blindly.
If you believe I am judging you, I’m not. Not once have I made any such comments to you yet you repeatedly call me ignorant and are condescending towards me. I have come to realize that the belief that God does not exist requires as much FAITH as the belief that He does exist. I believe in God and I’m beginning to think nothing I say to you will change your mind.

  • You want me to spell out every last detail for you. Well, I’m not going to do that, because I already know what your responses will be. Deny, deny, deny.
I’m not going to direct you to specific sites or pages because I don’t even want to listen to you saying, “That page is a load of crap.” Look at those topics yourself. You’ll find dozens of sources for each one. Those, in turn, can be cross-referenced to dozens of more pages, all showing the same facts. Try to stay away from rabidly atheistic sites and just stick with factual ones.
    God is just recycled myths.

Let’s face it. We both know you’re not going to look at any of that information.
The only way for you to maintain your faith is through ignorance.
That was the only way I held onto mine for so long.

Look… you can say whatever you want about me. I really don’t care. This page is already pushed too far back for anyone to bother reading anyway. You think I’m evil and am working for Satan. No, I’m just some guy who looked behind the curtain one day. All that pageantry looks great from the front, but there’s nothing behind it. ( btw, Satan doesn’t exist either.)
You assume that I’ve never looked at the bible or comprehended it? I do know what the bible says. I’ve read it cover to cover twice. I used to believe all of that too. Church every Sunday and Wednesday, reading the bible (REALLY reading it), spreading the Good News, etc… I used to believe EXACTLY what you believe and said all of the same things you’re saying.

What I posted above is only SOME of the evidence showing that God and religion is hollow. Archaeology is also showing direct contradictory evidence. Most of the biblical tales are simply fabrications. The only way I finally saw it was by taking off the “God Glasses”. My fingers USED to be stuck in my ears.

The only reason you’re a Christian is because you’re parents (probably) were. If you were raised in Pakistan or India, this conversation would be about Allah or Vishnu.

Ghosts and Demons don’t exist. With thousands of people searching every corner of the world, don’t you think SOMEBODY would have found one by now? The jury is still out on Aliens. LOL

Do yourself a favor and take a look. Then come join us in reality.
We don’t eat babies and our morals are as strong as yours.
We don’t need superstitions to be nice to one another.

  • While many have died because they believed, you will find that far more people have been killed because the leadership believed there was no ONE to judge them for their actions on earth: Genghis Khan, Alexander the Great, Roman Emperors, Stalin, Lenin, Pol Pot, Hitler, etc. These leaders killed because the population disagreed with their goals.
If you compare the numbers of peoples killed because they disagreed with Christianity (and this includes the peoples that were killed in defense of Christians’ way of life), you will find it is miniscule to the amount of people killed by people that believed that THEY, themselves were a god or offspring of a god. Your argument is stale; you ignore millions killed over a few years to compare to thousands killed over centuries. If you want to compare actual numbers, I will be glad to show reasons and numbers of the people by leaders that did not worship God.
Even today, your crowd wants to condemn Christians for some crackpots that other Christians stop or try to stop, while ignoring the torture and slaughter of Christians across the globe, today! You turn a blind eye to a man having his hands and feet tied with four grown men holding him, while a fifth cuts off his head; they are chanting like they are in a Satanic ritual, while your crowd lectures the United States on how we caused this.
I spelled Pilate wrong, my mistake, his letter to Rome, was not a collection, but a specific letter of the incidents at the time of Jesus. If copies were made 400 years later, that’s how it goes.
You say there is no one waiting for you on the other side? How do you explain ghosts? How do you explain demons? How do you explain aliens? Each year “scientists” “discover” evidence that has already been noted in the Bible. I find it amusing that they use the Bible to prove the times of their discoveries and then turn around and say “but you can’t believe everything you read in the Bible”.
I hope you will try to comprehend the Bible. Ezekiel and Jeremiah (where you will see a lot of similarities between older European culture and Jewish culture) are a good start. If you want to lecture Christians on how they are “supposed” to live, try reading and understanding the four gospels, it will give your argument steel. While you are at it, try Revelations (I will be honest here and tell you that I have read it more than once and do not have a good understanding of it); there is one part where it is told that every knee will bend to Jesus, when He returns. It also states that every person will be judged by HIM.
I understand if you want to put your fingers in your ears and say “that is not how it is” and “I don’t want that”. That will not change what the Lord has put down in word.

  • You haven't answered my post above yet.

  • I too find it terribly sad that thousands have died in the name of your god.
I find it even more disturbing that christians have killed millions more because of others unbelief.

The apocryphal letters of Pilate (no, he wasn't a PILOT) have been conclusively shown to have been written in the 4th century. The incredibly long lives of biblical characters ended with the Noachian flood. Pilate was long dead when they were penned.

There isn't anyone or anything waiting to judge anybody on the mysterious "other side".
I can assure you that we will both pass from this world into oblivion.
We both will be about as inconvenienced as we were before we were born.

What's wrong with living a decent life for nothing more than being good to one another?

  • You say that these are retold stories, yet there is proof that hundreds of thousands of people were killed due to this belief. When Romans told someone to deny what they saw or be put to death in the arena, those chose not to deny HIM! When Jewish leaders told followers of Jesus that they could not say they saw him after he had risen from the dead and walked the earth for 40 days or be tortured and killed, they chose not to deny HIM! Pontius Pilot wrote to Rome of his meeting with Jesus and said he was “fair of countenance”! Your denial that God exists is at your own peril, not mine. I would hope that you consider the possibility that you might be wrong. I try to live a descent life because I believe I will be with HIM when I leave here. Where will you be when you deny HIM? Read about his life and find out!

  • “The evidence you ask for is listed above.”
If you can’t prove that something doesn’t exist why are you offering evidence that God doesn’t exist. You first stated that there is none and that it cannot be done.
In order to prove something doesn’t exist you must prove something contrary to it. So could you please provide me with evidence (not a theory) that God did not create Earth?
Please explain which miracles are repeated. For example, are you saying that Greek mythology is basically the same as the Bible? What mythological stories are the same as the ones in the Bible?
Also, just because people are incapable of proving something does exist does not mean that it doesn’t. People were once incapable of proving the world was round. That did not make it flat. Being incapable of proving God does exist does not necessarily mean that he doesn’t.

  • Heh heh heh. We both know that you can't prove that something DOESN'T exist.

You keep claiming he DOES, yet never offer anything more than some words in a collection of books written thousands of years ago.
A book that most of its followers have never even read.

The evidence you ask for is listed above.
Why do you refuse to look at facts?

If only several of the miracles of the bible were re-told tales, I would concede that there might be a god.
But when every last miracle and most of the stories it contains can be show to be re-telling of stories thousands of years older, it stops being a coincidence.

Why is it that mythology has ALL of the same miracles and stories of the bible?
Why are those recognized as simply myths?
If you refuse to look, you're CHOOSING to remain ignorant of fact and history.

  • It is true that the existence of God has not been proven. However, it has not been disproven either. Therefore, the comments stating that God does not exist are based in just as much FAITH as the comments that he does exist. Show me evidence that he doesn't exist.

  • "Let me ask you this, did the natural laws not exist until someone proved them?"

    According to the bible... Yes.
Before the Noachian flood, rainbows didn't exist.

Hmmm... light must have refracted differently before then.

Who's living an empty life of endless wondering?
Assumptions like that are a trademark of "true believers" like you.

  • "Oh and just so you know they don't put stories in the bible that have not been backed up by other records, meaning just because someone wrote something that has to do with God doesn't mean that it goes the bible. The incident has to be backed up by other records from different sources."

That statement right there proves that you really have NO IDEA what you're talking about.
I don't think you've ever even read the bible.

Do yourself a favor and look up "Council of Nicea"
    Ignorance like yours is detestable!

Please do some research before you show your incredibly low level of intelligence again.
There is virtually NO corroborating evidence of ANYTHING in the bible.

  • Ok, I'm sick of this. If you don't believe in God just because there is no physical evidence to back it up, than that is possibly the dumbest thing I have ever heard. So before people realized what gravity was, did they just float around? Let me ask you this, did the natural laws not exist until someone proved them? There are plenty of things in this world that can be proven by science and plenty of things that cannot be.
Oh and just so you know they don't put stories in the bible that have not been backed up by other records, meaning just because someone wrote something that has to do with God doesn't mean that it goes the bible. The incident has to be backed up by other records from different sources.
And I don’t think I’m waiting my life one bit. I know people who don’t believe in God and they always seem to be searching for something, something to satisfy them and fill them but they never seem to be able to grasp anything that can. God fills me with his love, and I know that must sound cliché to you. But I’m not wasting my life on something retarded. I’m very happy with my life and am blessed in many ways. God shows you and guides you into a happy life. Granted you’re going to have a slip every now and then and maybe often but the point is you’re trying to live a life of purpose and not a life of just endless wondering, trying to fill that emptiness.

  • hahahahahaha!!!!!!!! you christians are so f****** retarded wasting on your lives on something that dont exist. there is no h***!!!!!!

  • Just wait, non belivers... you can dismiss what ever you want, you can question it all, you can choose to live an empty life... When you go to h*** make sure you tell everyone there it's not real, it's a myth, just reconsituted tales of ages past. Somehow I don't think they will buy your rationalizations anymore than I do.

  • #1 here:

^ See what I mean? That's exactly what I expected and it's pretty damn funny too.
What can be said about someone who CHOOSES to remain ignorant?

They're trying to downplay what is real by saying "... bits and pieces of different ones..." Look for yourself. There is nothing new or unique about the god of the bible.
Miracles only exist in mythology. The bible has miracles in it because it's just recycled mythology.

  • #1 here again.

OP, I'm not going to direct you to any specific sites. If you search any of the topics below, you'll find dozens of sources that will show you what is real (facts)... and what is not (bible).

The earliest known writings of the bible are dated to around 450 BCE (Before Common Era)
These are the oldest known actual Hebrew and Greek texts.

The earliest known written mythological sources are dated to around 5,000 BCE.
These vary throughout the Middle East and are a mix of early Egyptian, Greek, Sumerian, Canaanite, Syrian and an entire host of Pagan myths and legends, carved into stone tablets, pottery, burial items, walls, statues, caves and even buildings.

    Old Testament:
The creation of the world - Written mythology pre-dates all known biblical writings. (multiple times and by more than 4,500 years)
The creation of humans - Written mythology pre-dates all known biblical writings. (multiple times and by more than 4,500 years)
The creation of all animals and plants - Written mythology pre-dates all known biblical writings. (multiple times and by more than 4,000 years)
A “Tree of Knowledge” - Written mythology pre-dates all known biblical writings.
A talking serpent IN the tree of knowledge tempting the first humans - Written mythology pre-dates all known biblical writings.
A god able to grant eternal life - Written mythology pre-dates all known biblical writings. (multiple times)
Humans joining god in eternity - Written mythology pre-dates all known biblical writings. (multiple times)
A fiery h*** - Written mythology pre-dates all known biblical writings. (multiple times)
Non-believers spending eternity in a fiery h*** - Written mythology pre-dates all known biblical writings.
A god walking on earth (talking with Moses, etc…) - Written mythology pre-dates all known biblical writings. (multiple times)
The great flood - Written mythology pre-dates all biblical writings. (multiple times and by more than 1,000 years)
Laws carved into two stone tablets and brought down a mountain - Written mythology pre-dates all known biblical writings. (multiple times)
Moses as a baby in a basket - Written mythology pre-dates all biblical writings. (multiple times)
Moses’ magical staff with all of its attributes - Written mythology pre-dates all biblical writings. (multiple times)
The parting of the sea - Written mythology pre-dates all biblical writings.
A man inside a large creature for days (Jonah) - Written mythology pre-dates all known biblical writings. (multiple times)

    New Testament:
A god-man born to a human woman - Written mythology pre-dates all biblical writings. (numerous times)
A god-man born to a VIRGIN human woman - Written mythology pre-dates all biblical writings. (numerous times)
A god-man on earth with disciples - Written mythology pre-dates all biblical writings.
Jesus turns water into wine - Written mythology pre-dates all biblical writings.
Jesus cures the blind with spittle - Written mythology (including spittle) pre-dates all biblical writings.
Jesus raises the dead - Written mythology pre-dates all biblical writings. (multiple times)
Jesus heals the lame - Written mythology pre-dates all biblical writings.
Jesus walks on water - Written mythology pre-dates all biblical writings.
Jesus calms the storm - Written mythology pre-dates all biblical writings.
Feeding the masses with nothing at hand - Written mythology pre-dates all biblical writings.
A god-man dying, raising from the dead and rising to heaven - Written mythology pre-dates all biblical writings. (numerous times)

The practice of using gods to describe the things early man couldn’t understand pre-dates history itself. Practically everything in the bible is a collection of Egyptian, Greek, Sumerian and other various Pagan myths and tales, all collected into one place - all these attributes were given to one deity.
All of the points raised (above) had already been done before, by gods of earlier societies and had been recorded by them.

Anybody want to take a look at history?

  • --- Oh, and to answer your question, maybe your God has not forsaken you, but wants you to make yourself stronger through enduring hardships.

  • I go with the George Carlin approach - if YOU want to believe in God, and it helps you be a better person, and it doesn't hurt anyone else, then go ahead and believe. If your religion imposes on my freedoms or you persecute me in the name of YOUR god, then that's where the game changes.

  • If one can not prove or disprove the existence of God. Then why take the chance?

The most important aspect of anyone's belief system is faith. But one must place it in something that represents the basic goodness of God and mankind.

The true paradox is that God does not exist without man and man does not exist without God.

Besides, God or no God, YOU have forsaken yourself.
    You control your circumstance.
You decide how to live your life.

God may have a plan for you, but it is up to you to live it.

  • Every single miracle in the bible is just the re-telling of much older stories.
Even Jesus curing the blind with spittle had been done before - WITH SPITTLE.

The second poster has no evidence that anything he claims is real and will refuse to accept that God and Jesus are just recycled myths.
I refuse to get into a p****** match with someone who will refuse to look at facts.

OP, I can show you that ALL of the miracles of the bible had been done before. In some cases, by THOUSANDS of years.

  • Of course God is real. Don't listen to the knucklehead above as she is just a secularist that works very hard to convince others to embrace the same emptiness of spirit and bankrupt morality they feel. The website she would show you is a joke and easily dismissed as such.

God does not forsake His creation to include you...or even knucklehead. Maybe you misunderstand the reason for our being, and from that you feel abandoned. He has spoken to us; clearly and with one voice. In our recorded human history it was first through the Jews as a Chosen People, then Christ to the world.

Listen to Him, not the knucklehead.

  • Okay... we need to talk.

The truth is there is no such thing as God, Jehovah, YahWeh, or anything else you want to call it.
God is nothing more than myth and legend. If you want, I can show where to look, so that you can see that everything in the bible is just a continuation of myths that had started thousands of years before the bible was written.
Parts of the bible are even blatant plagiarism from earlier writings - word for word.

You haven't been forsaken. There wasn't anything there to start with.
