    • Just wait, non belivers... you can dismiss what ever you want, you can question it all, you can choose to live an empty life... When you go to ** make sure you tell everyone there it's not real, it's a myth, just reconsituted tales of ages past. Somehow I don't think they will buy your rationalizations anymore than I do.

    • #1 here:

^ See what I mean? That's exactly what I expected and it's pretty ** funny too.
What can be said about someone who CHOOSES to remain ignorant?

They're trying to downplay what is real by saying "... bits and pieces of different ones..." Look for yourself. There is nothing new or unique about the god of the bible.
Miracles only exist in mythology. The bible has miracles in it because it's just recycled mythology.

    • #1 here again.

OP, I'm not going to direct you to any specific sites. If you search any of the topics below, you'll find dozens of sources that will show you what is real (facts)... and what is not (bible).

The earliest known writings of the bible are dated to around 450 BCE (Before Common Era)
These are the oldest known actual Hebrew and Greek texts.

The earliest known written mythological sources are dated to around 5,000 BCE.
These vary throughout the Middle East and are a mix of early Egyptian, Greek, Sumerian, Canaanite, Syrian and an entire host of Pagan myths and legends, carved into stone tablets, pottery, burial items, walls, statues, caves and even buildings.

      Old Testament:

      New Testament:

The practice of using gods to describe the things early man couldn’t understand pre-dates history itself. Practically everything in the bible is a collection of Egyptian, Greek, Sumerian and other various Pagan myths and tales, all collected into one place - all these attributes were given to one deity.
All of the points raised (above) had already been done before, by gods of earlier societies and had been recorded by them.

Anybody want to take a look at history?

    • --- Oh, and to answer your question, maybe your God has not forsaken you, but wants you to make yourself stronger through enduring hardships.

    • I go with the George Carlin approach - if YOU want to believe in God, and it helps you be a better person, and it doesn't hurt anyone else, then go ahead and believe. If your religion imposes on my freedoms or you persecute me in the name of YOUR god, then that's where the game changes.

    • If one can not prove or disprove the existence of God. Then why take the chance?

The most important aspect of anyone's belief system is faith. But one must place it in something that represents the basic goodness of God and mankind.

The true paradox is that God does not exist without man and man does not exist without God.

Besides, God or no God, YOU have forsaken yourself.
      You control your circumstance.
You decide how to live your life.

God may have a plan for you, but it is up to you to live it.

    • Every single miracle in the bible is just the re-telling of much older stories.
Even Jesus curing the blind with spittle had been done before - WITH SPITTLE.

The second poster has no evidence that anything he claims is real and will refuse to accept that God and Jesus are just recycled myths.
I refuse to get into a ** match with someone who will refuse to look at facts.

OP, I can show you that ALL of the miracles of the bible had been done before. In some cases, by THOUSANDS of years.

    • Of course God is real. Don't listen to the knucklehead above as she is just a secularist that works very hard to convince others to embrace the same emptiness of spirit and bankrupt morality they feel. The website she would show you is a joke and easily dismissed as such.

God does not forsake His creation to include you...or even knucklehead. Maybe you misunderstand the reason for our being, and from that you feel abandoned. He has spoken to us; clearly and with one voice. In our recorded human history it was first through the Jews as a Chosen People, then Christ to the world.

Listen to Him, not the knucklehead.

    • Okay... we need to talk.

The truth is there is no such thing as God, Jehovah, YahWeh, or anything else you want to call it.
God is nothing more than myth and legend. If you want, I can show where to look, so that you can see that everything in the bible is just a continuation of myths that had started thousands of years before the bible was written.
Parts of the bible are even blatant plagiarism from earlier writings - word for word.

You haven't been forsaken. There wasn't anything there to start with.
