Abandoned as a child
I was 8 when this man came to our village. My father was the mayor. When he left I never saw my father again. I was 34 when I saw the man again. I wanted to find out what happened to my father. He told me he was my father's distant cousin and my father went to live with his other wife.
My father had a whole other family, wife, children. He abandoned us.
The guy could have been lying. Whoever the guy was that came to your village might have had something to do with your dad's disappearance. He tells you that your dad had another family somewhere but you should have asked for evidence to support this claim rather then immediately taking it at face value.
