I was pretty much a failure at everything I tried to do
Barely graduating High School and flunking out of college I managed to get fired six times during my working life. I did get in ten years in two places, six in another and four years at another place. The companies that fired me I only worked there for a short time until they decided I was not a keeper.
My salary was dismal at the companys I was able to put ten years into and the six year company was dismal also. Working for the state the state I was working for decided they weren't making enough to pay as many workers as were on the payroll so they laid several people off including me.
I was able to collect unemployment of eleven months and by then I was able to collect Social Security and a couple of annuities from the two companys I got ten years in.
Then my saint of a mother passed away leaving me $300,000 dollars after taxes and I inherited a $150,000 house. I moved in with my UNcle and I live in an upstairs apartment.
Most people could have done better in life than I did. Many did worse but overall I have many regrets. No wife, no kids no big pension just enough to have a roof over my head medical care and decent food. Most of my friends did better than I did. Ironically they have mostly all passed away. My turn. Problems over.
