Faith healing is horse **
I was on break at work and a fellow employee said that at Oral Roberts University there had been a faith healing. I mouthed the words "I don't believe in that **". I was overheard by this hard shell Baptist and he said he didn't care what the ** I believed. He then asked did I not even believe in the possibility of it? Didn't I believe in the Lord?
My answer to both questions is no. Faith healing is a scam. A money making scam that targets the most vulnerable and often causes death. There have been cases of people with heart trouble thinking they have been magically healed throwing their heart medication on the stage. These people also give the scam minister money.
The basic belief that God will heal through prayer has killed many people including children whose parents took their child off of medication because they believed the Lord healed them.
God if he exists only helps those who help themselves.
Me I'll go to the doctor and take prescribed medicine. After that maybe I'll pray and maybe I won't.
The worst part is that when the prayer induced "healing" fails they blame the person for not having enough faith.
I lean towards atheism because of this nonsense.
