So there I was, stripped and fully exposed from the waist down with my knees drawn up and apart, with the fingers of my right hand rubbing my ** like crazy and a voice says, "mam?". I opened my eyes and there she was by the door looking at me. All I could say was, "let me get dressed darling". She paused for a few seconds, turned and went out. Before I got down stairs she had left for school. I assume she came to say goodbye when she caught me. I feel terrible - ashamed, guilty, embarrassed, scared. How do I deal with her coming home later?

At 13, she is most likely doing her own explorations. But think it's always the shock that your parents do that too. You don't need to justify or go into detail with what you were doing. You can say, I'm not sure what you saw but I just want to tell you that if you had any questions, you can ask me. But it's important for your daughter to know that there is absolutely nothing to be ashamed, guilty or embarrassed about masturbation. That it is totally natural. And you shouldn't either. Maybe when your bedroom door is closed, she will wait for an answer before walking in nexttime.
