Every time I say I love God, someone wants to bash me for it. They ALWAYS assume I'm a christian when I'm not. I think of Jesus as a great man, who received great wisdom, as did others. Even though I'm not a Christian, I resent that people instantly hate me and quite honestly, I feel sorry for Christians. Not all Christians are people that try to force it on you, not all Christians are backbiters or missionaries that maim and murder. We all have vicious ancestors but that doesn't necessarily make us vicious. I'm just tired of being stereotyped because I love God. Go ** yourself if you have an issue with me loving God because that won't change, ever.
You say you're not a Christian, which is interesting because you sure play the "bawww, I'm so persecuted for my wholesome beliefs" card like one. Anyone with intelligence, eyes and ears knows exactly why god-botherers are treated the way they are-- they're merely getting back what they dish out. Sometimes they're evangelical, other times they're passive-aggressive and try way too hard to sound cool, but the message is the same: "I'm in tight with My Lord JC and you're not, so you kinda **." So, uh, WHO'S stereotyping, I wonder?
Sounds like you need a little refresher, honey: Religion is like a p3nis. (If you're on this site, you know what one is, I assume?) You can enjoy having it and sharing it with people, but if you just go around jamming it down people's throats, they're not going to appreciate it.
If even THAT is too hard of a concept to contemplate, I'd say you're not catching *enough* dismissal from others. May you be touched by His Noodly Appendage. rAmen.
Stop advertising it. Do it in private, between your god and yourself. Your faith and love for god, should be between, god and yourself. You don't need to advertise it to the world. So don't be surprised when you do, what people's reactions may be!! Remember, we live in a complex world, with complex people and complex views!!
