It's like if a man and woman have children together and the man cheats on his wife and has a child from the affair, his wife and their biological child/ren may resent the affair child. Even if they don't resent it, they grieve and have unpleasant feelings about what has happened. I heard about someone on Reddit whose sister (they had the same father) resented her because of her parents' divorce and would scream when she cried and refuse to play with her. I can relate to her because that's how I feel about my half-brother.
I feel like Cinderella - she lost her family, her parent remarried, and was miserable with her new family members. Now, I'm not saying my life is all bad. But I can still relate to Cinderella.
