Low paying, low prestige going nowhere jobs that some people end
I have various physical handicaps and a short term memory problem. I'm not strong and I have curvature of the spine. I'm not a good candidate to hire except these horrible jobs.
The state of Georgia found a way to get out of minimum wage pay for some work even some work that was kind of important. They relied on people like me who for mental and physical reasons can't do any better.
I worked for the benefits and the state does have benefits.
Working on the warehouse I was 60 years old and I had been laid off from another going nowhere job.
I managed to work there for enough years to get an annuity and then social security. Had it not been for my elderly parents I would have ended up in a cardboard box in an ally somewhere.
OK I'm 77 living a hand to mouth existence and my time is coming. I wish it would hurry.
