I love her. She pretends not to know, but she knows.
The other day, I sort of made the suggestion that we should be more than friends. She went on to say no, we would make a terrible couple because we don't want the same things out of life.
But then two days later, she started calling me her girlfriend. Then we spent an evening together which ended up feeling like a romantic date. I'm madly in love with this girl. What the ** am I supposed to think?

I agree with the first comment. Give it time, sounds like she does like you and is entertaining the idea of you as more than a friend. But you may want to have a chat about what you both want in life, because those types of issues can doom a relationship. Maybe things you didn't want before, you may want with her..
Maybe she had a change of heart.
