It Should Be Me

My friend talks to me damn near every day. We work together at times, we text when we don't see each other. The more we talk the more i realize the reason I'm single is the person I want to be with is the one right in front of me, the one i trust with more than most people. She trusts me with a lot, including the guys she hooks up with. They're all that hot guy type, and I'm a guy next door type. The worst part I hearing people tell us we should date, and having to deny it out of fear I'd lose her as a friend.

  • Worth a shot..I lived this agony with a former coworker/business associate for 2 years before we finally went out "for real" one night. After a fairly good run, and, due to her own life mess, we decided to return to just being the incredibly close friends we'd been before. People still think we are or were married, and, one of my female friends still yells at me about her.

Did I miss out on something great, long-term? Maybe. But at least we gave it a shot..
