I dont know if my crush likes me

On the first day of a new school year there was this one guy in my class and I litterally fell in love at that moment, we started talking before the teacher came in but I guess his schedule was messed up so we ended up having no classes together. Months went he never talked to me by but he always looked at me and smiled whenever he saw me. One time he saw me in the hall and asked one if my friends what my name was and my other friend told him to say hi to me...but he didnt. A couple days ago he literally couldn't stop staring at me in the hall(it wasnt creepy staring tho) I died inside because he looked so cute. It's weird because hes so shy around me,I know he's not too talkative but still he hasn't said nothing and it really seems like he likes me, so idk what to do should I go say hi to him.
