My dad doesn't appreciate anything I do for him
Every I try to do something nice for my dad, he never says "Thank you." Instead, he either yells at me, calls me an idiot, moron, **, stupid, or other names of the low level intelligence variety. Many, many years ago, I was in the living room watching TV when there was a knock on the door. I open it and there was a girl there. She explained that she was selling tickets for a school fundraiser. The tickets she was selling was for free drinks, popcorn and even movies at movie theaters. It was only $25. I figured it would be a nice gift for my dad so I bought them. When my dad came into the room, I explained everything. My dad's response was to start screaming at me for wasting my money on something stupid. I told him that I bought them for him but that just made him angrier. My dad currently has cancer and can barely stand so he was given a bath bench to use whenever he needs to take a shower. The thing is, the bench is too long and the tub is too small. I ordered a smaller bath bench that would fit in the tub and when he found out about it, I told him that I bought it for him since it was smaller and could fit in the tub. His response was that he didn't need it, I shouldn't waste my money on things and to send it back. No matter what I do or buy for my dad, he never thanks me. I would think that he could show even a small percentage of appreciation considering that I'm doing so many nice things for him.
