Sad..
It's sad how terrible the state of the world has gotten. Maybe it has always been this way and I was blissfully unaware as a child. All I see on the news is violence, hatred, crime, corruption, immorality, and famine. All of these things are made blatantly aware on most of these posts. Some of the most bigoted and disgusting things are posted here daily. No-one respects the institution of marriage anymore. I'm a senior in college and have only been in 4 relationships. This makes me feel like I would rather be single the rest of my life then get married. I grew up believing that marriage was sacred. That you don't judge a person by the color of their skin or where they were born. To love your neighbor and help others when you can. Where are the people with morals and values in this generation? I'm not saying that it isn't okay to have a sexual fetishes, hey everyone is entitled to like what they like. And by no means am I implying that anybody is perfect, everyone has flaws. But when stories of adultery and hatred are top confessions it really makes me think that the world is truly going into the **....
I had the same idealistic beliefs like you did, but I soon realized that the world is unfair and people are imperfect. All you can do is to surround yourself with people you share the same outlook with. Otherwise, don't expect others to behave the way you like. Some come from a sad place or have suffered abuse, etc. You'll understand where the hate is coming from if you know that many come from unhealthy environment or have some type of mental illness like paranoia, narcissism, or physical illness like cancer. Just live your life the best you can and be less judgmental, because you too will make mistakes. That's part of growing up.

A lot of this is economic, through in the internet & ** and lower church attendance and you have a recipe for disaster!
Let's not forget that personal accountability has taken a hit.
I have to admit - I am a doomsday prepper, and fully expect something big to happen in the next ( not saying) years!
I am older and have lived in the northeast & southwest, I've lived around every culture and am surprised by the hatred that exists in this world towards other humans and animals!
I feel bad for kids these days! When I was 18 I had 1 job (no college), and my own apt. I see 40 year olds living at home due to lack of work who are also straddled with college loans!

When I see the evil I pray to god for inner peace, and when the ** hits the fan I'm buggin out;)
While there's nothing wrong with having survival skills and being prepared for whatever, you preppers are a class all your own.
You're just as bad as the fundies who run around yelping about End Times. Then when the date comes and goes without so much as a peculiar cloud pattern in the sky, they don't even so much as show remorse for looking like fools yet again before making up a new date in the near future for their own version of SHTF. That was you all over around Y2K, among other dates. Am I right? Yeah, I am. Don't bother tryna deny it. And now you're stroking it to the idea of civil war, just itching to bring out all your shiny toys and commencin' to blowing people away while shrieking "I TOLD yuh so!!!" That's what gets nutbars like you through the night.

With CoVid this year I am betting the SHTF crowd started out with perpetual stiffies because they could finally wave their great big guns around and yell "we told you so" while chowing down on canned food.
Turns out they were the first ones getting haircuts and strutting around government buildings and protests in full kit but not doing anything else. But they're manly men and sovereign this and that and don't try to tell them otherwise, because they'll start crying or something.
They’re going to prison, along with the Cheeto Benito.
